We have always been experts in building infrastructures, not just in the energy sector. To date Saipem has completed infrastructure projects for a value of around ten billion dollars, totalling over 1,000 km of railway tracks, 450 km of roads and over 40 km of viaducts and bridges of various types. We give our best throughout each process phase, from modelling and value engineering to project integration. Our projects are developed in accordance with the most stringent quality standards, safety and sustainability are our top priority, and environmental impacts are minimised. We are fully focused on innovation and technological development in order to always ensure we offer the best service available to our customers.

Our experience is borne of a successful track record which has seen us as major players in completing the high-speed/high-capacity Milan-Bologna and Treviglio-Brescia railway lines, as well as the Shah–Habshan–Ruwais rail connection for sulphur transport in the UAE.

In Italy, we are currently working on the Brescia–Verona high-speed/high-capacity rail line.

Not everybody knows that Saipem, renowned for its work in the energy sector, also boasts major successes in other areas, such as building high-speed/high-capacity rail lines. Specifically, the Milan-Bologna, Treviglio-Brescia and now the Brescia-Verona lines.

THE RAILWAY AT THE SERVICE OF INDUSTRY

Saipem recently built the first railway in the UAE, a 264 km-long infrastructure project which links the Shah and Habshan gas plants in the Abu Dhabi desert to the port of Ruwais, a project involving nearly 90 million cubic metres of earthworks, and which was particularly challenging due to high temperatures, the requirement for an innovative solution to contain the sand on the railway platform, and the significant impact resulting from the involvement of over 40 stakeholders. Every day this line transports more than 22,000 tonnes of sulphur using two, 110-car trains.
